William (Bill) Lewis Sharpe moved to his eternal mansion prepared by his Savior on April 6, 2017.
Bill was born July 6, 1954 to Lewis Hunter and Marjorie Jeanne Sharpe. He grew up in Quincy, Illinois and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1972. Bill and Gale met during their senior year in high school. After graduation they each went their separate ways with Gale going to college and Bill entering the United States Air Force. The Air Force took Bill to exotic places such as Thailand, the Philippines, Okinawa and the National Security Agency (NSA) as a Vietnamese translator.
Bill and Gale married on August 2,1975 in Quincy, Illinois. Both Bill and Gale graduated in 1978 from Concordia College Seward, Nebraska. Bill received his Masters in Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 1983. Bill served as a teacher in Denison, Iowa, and Pompano Beach, Florida. He served as a teaching principal in Red Bud, Illinois. In 1987, Bill became the Director of Spiritual Life and Recreation at Dakota Boys Ranch in Minot, North Dakota. He began his service to the North Dakota District Office of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Fargo in August 1991.
The Sharpes were blessed with three children: Andrew, Rachel, and Rebekah.
They have welcomed three new "kids" into the family: Dave, husband of Rachel; Ryan, husband of Rebekah; and Lacey, wife of Andrew. Bill and Gale are the proud grandparents of Grace, Grant, and Peter.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and a little one lost to miscarriage.
Bill's remains will be interred 'on his bucket list' in loving memory to things he wished to yet accomplish: climbing a 14er (14,000 ft. mountain) with son Andrew, hiking the Grand Canyon with whichever offspring would go along, and establishing a new tree at
the site of his office, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
Bill's family wants to express their extreme love and gratitude for all of the care and concern they have received through Bill's many and final health journeys.
God has blessed us and continues to greatly! To Him be the glory!
