William Johnson

William H. “Bill” Johnson, 91, of Hunter, ND, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Arthur Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND. Bill was born March 20, 1917, in White, SD, the son of John and Agnes (Lockhart) Johnson. He graduated high school from Grand Meadow, MN, in 1936. Bill was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Artillery serving in Normandy in North France, the Rhineland and Central Europe from 1941 to 1945. Bill married Ellen Bahl September 6, 1957. They lived in Hunter, ND, where Bill was manager of the Hunter Municipal Liquor Store. Bill has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home since 2005. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen; and his brothers, Max and Robert. He is survived by his stepson, Ronald (Annette) Skarperud, Fargo, ND; and a nephew, Barry (Ardell) Johnson, Watertown, SD. Memorial Service: Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00AM at First Lutheran Church, Hunter, ND. Burial: Hunter Cemetery, Hunter, ND at a later date.
