William Leo Jans

William Leo Jans passed away August 10, 2021, at the age of 98. He was born January 28, 1923, in Fredonia, North Dakota to William and Olga Jans. William grew up in Kulm, ND where he graduated from Kulm High School. He later went on to graduate from UND and Dakota Business College.

William began employment at James Valley Electric in 1948 where he worked for 12 ½ years as the office manager and the assistant manager. He also met his wife, Lorraine, that same year. He and Lorraine were married shortly after, in 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Edgeley, ND. A few years later they had their sons, Stephen and Philip.

In 1960, William became a banker at Edgeley Security National Bank and enjoyed the banking business for 28 years until his retirement in 1988. William and Lorraine moved to Fargo, ND in 1995 seven years after his retirement, this is where they created their home.

William is survived by his son, Stephen (Lori) Jans; Grandchildren, Kristin and William; and great-grandchildren Brandon, Ethan and Ezra.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine and his son Philip Jans.

William will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
