Willie Ibach, 75, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Oakes Community Hospital.
William Clemens Ibach was born in rural Emmons County on November 6, 1936, to Anton and Katie (Rohrich) Ibach. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1956 where he played baseball, football, and basketball and was a member of the 1955 undefeated football team. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957–1959 and was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas. Willie married Carol Klevgaard on January 28, 1961, in Moorhead, MN. They were married for 50 years before her passing in 2011.
Willie owned and operated a café in Fargo and also attended NDSU for a year. He worked as an insurance adjuster in the Fargo-Moorhead area for 35 years until his retirement. During retirement, Willie traveled with Carol and spent time with family. He loved watching baseball, pheasant hunting with his brothers, and working in the yard. He loved his three grandchildren very much.
Willie is survived by his son, William Jr. (Raquel), Fargo; grandchildren, Emmett, Ethan, and Emma; his sisters Angie (Ray), Fort Smith, Arkansas; Marcella, Moorhead; Shirley, Fargo; Darlene, West Fargo; and brothers Jim (Viola), Fargo; Larry (Jackie), Fargo; and Mike (Lori), Fargo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anton; mother, Katie; son, Thomas John Ibach; daughter, Anna Marie Ibach; brother, Tony; and sister, Helen.
