William J. “Bill” Adkins, 84, Fargo, ND, died Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Bill was born February 11, 1930 in Bismarck, ND to Walter and Christine Adkins. He grew up in Breckenridge, MN where he graduated high school. He attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton graduating in 1947.
He married JoAnne Roseth in 1950 in Breckenridge, and they moved to Fargo, ND in 1959. Bill worked for Red Owl and Fairway Foods. In 1978 they moved to Aberdeen, SD where he worked for Ken’s Fairway. In 1988 they moved back to Fargo where Bill worked for Super Valu.
Bill is survived by his wife, JoAnne of Fargo; children: Jim (Christine) Adkins, Volga, SD; Laurel (Larry Madson) Mahan, Fargo, ND; Mark Adkins, Grapevine, TX; and Terri (Jim) Monk, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Mahan, Plymouth, MN; Kevin (Erin) Mahan, Oxbow, ND; Chris (Stephanie) Mahan, Minnetonka, MN; Victoria Adkins, Naples, FL; Laurelle Adkins, Sioux Falls, SD; Weston Adkins, Iowa City, IA; Tandra Adkins, Fargo, ND; Kyle Monk, Fargo, ND; Katie Monk, Fargo, ND; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Sylvia (Tony) Scander, Ottertail, MN; Janice (Al) Rudisill, Ypsilanti, MI, and Mike (LaRon) Adkins, Battle Lake, MN.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed. Bill’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy.
