Wilbert Krabbenhoft, 89, of Moorhead, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Wilbert Frederick Krabbenhoft was born July 13, 1925 near Glyndon, MN to August and Augusta (Sonnenberg) Krabbenhoft. He grew up and attended Glyndon school.
Wilbert farmed with his brother, Ewald, on the family farm near Glyndon. In 1945 he enlisted in the US Army and served during World War II. After his time in the service, he drove gravel truck for the Kost Brothers, and was an owner/operator truck driver for most of his life. The last job he had was driving with Fitzgerald Construction in Sabin, MN, before retiring.
He married Betty Jean Lien, and together they raised their four children.
Wilbert enjoyed spending his retired years in the Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas. He liked to spend his summers at his cabin on Toad Lake, MN.
Wilbert is survived by his children, Linda Romaine, Audubon, MN; Carol Mendy, Fort Smith, AR; Kent (Julie) Krabbenhoft, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Brianne, Michael, Marissa, Aaron, Leighanne, Stephen, Christopher, and Nathan; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judith Peterson; and siblings, Ester, Luverne, and Ewald.
