Wayne Strand

Wayne Strand, 81, of Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Wayne was born on June 29, 1926, near Sheldon, ND to Peter and Minnie (Johnson) Strand. He worked on the family farm and later earned a degree in drafting from Wahpeton State School of Science. He moved to Fargo, where he was employed by Dakota Plate Glass. He founded Glass Unlimited, Inc. with his brother-in-law, Gene Anderson in 1978. He married Darlene Martin, in Enderlin, ND on April 2, 1954. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Michele (John) Janicek, Eagan, MN; grandson, Stephen Janicek; sister, Muriel Anderson and brother, Milton (Dolly) Strand, both of Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Maynerd and Orville Strand; and sister Lorine Bjugstad. Memorials are preferred to Olivet Lutheran Church. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 1:00 PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
