Wanda England, 84, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Bethany on University, Fargo.
Wanda Ann England was born July 10, 1929 in Moorhead, MN to Herman and Bonnie Hersrud. She attended schools in Fargo. She met Richard England shortly after high school, and they were married on March 27, 1949. They made their home in Glyndon, MN, where they raised their seven children. They belonged to First Congregational Church in Glyndon, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered often for different church functions. She always made sure those who visited their home felt welcome, often times taking in children who needed a safe place to stay. Wanda later worked as a cashier at the Silver Spike Motel in Dilworth, where she worked for many years.
Wanda loved playing cards with her good friends in the two groups that met each week. Every family gathering included a poker game, and Wanda was always a part of it. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together, and spending time with family.
Wanda is survived by her children, Mark (Cheryl) England, Dilworth, MN; Mike England, Fargo, ND; Richard (Karen) England, Fargo, ND; Anthony (LeAnn) England, Moorhead, MN; Donald England, Fargo, ND; Bonnie England, Seattle, WA; Matthew (Vanessa) England, Syre, MN; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 nephews; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother, Donald Hersrud; daughter-in-law, Sheila; and grandson, Brandon.
