Walter “Les” Kania, 59, West Fargo, ND, died March 23, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo after a lengthy stay.
Walter was born November 3, 1956 in Valley City, ND to Anton W. and Mary (Morris) Kania. He attended school at Fargo South High and went on to receive his GED.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1976. He was stationed at Honolulu, Hawaii. He received an honorable discharge there.
Walter worked for United Roofing, Port-a-Blast and many years at Concord Inc. as an industrial painter. The last several years he was on disability due to health problems. He enjoyed spending time with family and walking his dogs “Buster” and “Tyfanny”. He also spent a lot of time watching his favorite T.V. shows including, old episodes of Miami Vice, all of the CSI’s and the current NCIS.
Walter is survived by his children, Cassandra L. Kania, West Fargo; Joseph (Joey) M. Kania, Minneapolis, MN, Stephanie Kania, St. Cloud, MN; siblings, Charles D. (Debra) Morris, Springfield, MO, Anton E. Kania, Fargo, ND, Marilyn J. (Timothy) Chartier, Moorhead, MN, Kevin J. (Cindy) Kania, Farmington, MN, Linda K. (Tony) Martin, Watertown, SD, and Michael J. Kania, Moorhead, MN.
He was preceded in death by Diane M. Pfaff; his parents, Anton W. and Mary M. Kania, and brothers, Phillip W. and Steven W. Kania.
