Walter Nelson Ault, 91, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Wolf Point, MT, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Walt was born November 20, 1920 in Hensel, ND to Edward and Sarah (Gloude) Ault. He grew up and attended school in Churchs Ferry, ND.
In 1942, Walter enlisted in the United States Navy, where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Evarts and the U.S.S. LSM. After his discharge, he married Bette Burke of Cavalier, ND on September 1, 1948. The couple then moved to Wolf Point, MT, where he and three brothers owned and operated a SuperValu store for 30 years. In 2003, Walter and Bette moved to Fargo, ND.
Walt is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bette; daughters, Kathryn (Arthur) Vickers, Fargo, ND; and Nancy Fryar (Rory Haugen), Missoula, MT; grandchildren, Jeff (Peggy) Bridges, Billings, MT; Matt (Kim) Bridges, Andy (Jen) Vickers and Stormy Vickers all of Fargo, ND; Hayley Fryar and Luke Fryar, Missoula, MT; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Guy, Burl and Duane; four sisters, Edna, Aldis, Lillian and Laura; and granddaughter, Wendy Bridges.
Memorial Service: Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
