Waldo Tuttle Peterson was born at home to Myrtle and Tuttle Peterson December 13, 1923. Waldo was one of seven children. He was educated in a one room school house. He worked for the FBI prior to joining the army and serving as a Military Policeman in World War II. Waldo used his GI Bill to earn his degree at Colorado State University in 1950 where he met and married Lois Binkley. They had four children together. Waldo worked for Great Western Sugar Company for 30 years and moved to Fargo in 1980 where he worked for American Crystal Sugar Company, retiring in 1990 as Director of Seed Sales. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a 32 Degree Mason, an Elk, Eagle, a Toastmaster and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Laurel, Montana. He came late to the game of golf but was an avid player and a member of the Ponderosa Golf Club. He is survived by his three daughters, Linda (Doug) Rains, Colorado Springs, CO, Virginia (Rich) Woods Newton, NJ, and Beth (Mike) Jorgensen Fargo, ND; one brother, Leonard Peterson of Deerfield Beach, FL; one sister, Regina Miller of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Waldo was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lorene Wenzlick and three brothers, Harold, Lee, and Elton Peterson; his wife of 45 years, Lois Peterson (Binkley) and an infant son, Ronald. Funeral: Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 10:00 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
