It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian Wittmayer-Heineke on June 10, 2007, at ManorCare Home, Fargo, ND. Vivian Burrer was born September 15, 1923, at Eureka, South Dakota, daughter to Henry and Emma (Ackerman) Burrer. She was educated to the 8th grade at a country school. On March 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Wittmayer. They made their home and farmed in the Eureka area, before moving to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1952. They had one daughter, Joyce. Vivian worked for many years as hostess of Powers Hotel and Restaurant, before beginning a career in retail sales, managing the Diane Shop in Fargo. In 1964, the Diane Shop took her to the Winona, Minnesota area, where she met her long time companion, Bill Heineke. Upon returning to Fargo with Bill in 1970, she managed, for many years, the Woman’s Corner in the West Acres Shopping Center. Vivian was caretaker of the Carly II apartment building. She was a great friend to tenants of the building and was known to assist them in their times of need. She had a passion for gardening and canning and always had beautiful flowers. Vivian will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Joyce Wendt, West Fargo, ND; grandsons, Craig (Vicki) Wendt, Buffalo, ND; Bryan (Tammy) Wendt, Alice, ND; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Ivan Berg; sister, Mildred (Albert) Bauer; sister-in-law, Margaret (Calvin) Burrer; and nieces and nephews.
