Victor H. Leeby, Jr., 90, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Bethany on University in Fargo.
Victor H. Leeby was born January 18, 1924 in Fargo, ND to Victor and Lottie J. (Morrish) Leeby. He attended Roosevelt School in Fargo and later graduated from from Fargo Central in 1942. He attended the University of Minnesota where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1946.
That same year, Victor joined his father’s wholesale building materials company, the Victor H. Leeby Co. founded in 1914. On June 16, 1951, he married Marlys R. Stevens, of Gary, MN, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo, ND.
He retired as President of Victor H. Leeby Co. in 2002.
Victor was a Mason and a member of the El Zagal Shrine, the Oriental Band, the FM Sertoma Club and the Elks Club. He was a life-time member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo. He loved spending time at Pelican Lake, which he had done ever since he was a child. He loved sailboats and was past Commodore of the sailboat races on Pelican Lake.
Victor is survived by his children, Gary (Denise) Leeby, Fargo, ND; Neil Leeby, Fargo, ND; and Mona Leeby, Fargo, ND; sister, Jewell Hanna, Bainbridge Island, WA; two grandchildren, Luke Leeby, Fargo, ND; and Raime (Chris) Muhle, Denver, CO; and two great-grandchildren, London and Dominic Muhle.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marlys (2008).
Memorials are preferred to Plymouth Congregational UCC in Fargo.
The memorial service is 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2015, at Plymouth Congregational UCC, Fargo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial in Riverside Mausoleum, Fargo.
