Vera E. Anderson, 90, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND. Vera Eunice Thurston was born December 14, 1919, at Polson, Montana, daughter of Harry and Ethel (Wheatley) Thurston. She moved to Fargo, North Dakota, and attended Dakota Business College. Vera married Armis “Andy” J. Anderson on June 12, 1940, at Polson, Montana. Vera worked in the meat department at Vic’s Super Value. She also worked as a lefse wrapper at Freddie’s Lefse and at the Sweetheart Bread Thrift Store. Vera loved her grandchildren and was thrilled by her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed and was very skilled at quilting, knitting and crocheting. She was a proficient seamstress and worked for a time as an alterations lady at S & L Department Store. She is survived by a son, Gerald (Johanna) Anderson, Auburn, WA; and a daughter, Marie (David) Paulsen, Glyndon, MN; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Armis. Memorial Service: Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 2:00 PM at Mavis Whiting Chapel – Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.
