Timothy Simonson

April 4, 1961 — February 29, 2024

Timothy Scott Simonson (1961-2024) passed away peacefully on February 29th, 2024, at his brother's home in Fargo, North Dakota.

Born in Fargo in 1961 to Adrien and Sharon Simonson, Tim was raised in a loving environment that fostered his passions and supported his endeavors. He was a devoted son who later became a caring caretaker for his mother in her final years.

Tim's life was marked by a deep love for nature and outdoor activities. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy by the lakeside, and his love for hunting was evident in the time he spent in the great outdoors. His connection to nature extended to his beloved dogs, Cooper, Coco, Foxy, and Anabelle, whom he cherished as integral members of his family.

During his seven years of service in the US Army as a mechanic, Tim's skills were invaluable, extending beyond military duty to assisting countless families with their vehicle repairs. His dedication to helping others was a cornerstone of his character, and his readiness to lend a hand will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Beyond his military service, Tim pursued various career paths, from maintenance work at NDSU Fieldhouse to truck driving, where he was an owner operator for United Van Lines. His mechanical expertise led him through positions at Seventh Avenue Salvage and Red River Commodities, reflecting his versatile skill set and strong work ethic.

Tim's legacy is one of generosity, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to his family. He embodied the spirit of a true do-it-yourself individual, always willing to tackle any challenge that came his way. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will endure in the hearts of his loved ones.

Timothy Scott Simonson is survived by his siblings, Cindy Hulswit, Belinda Donley, Michelle Johnson, Mary Ayers, Barry Simonson, Jeremy Simonson, and Jon Simonson, as well as 71 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adrien (Jerry) and Sharon Simonson, and his grandmother, Elizabeth Leroy.

In honor of Tim's life, the family will hold a Celebration of Life at Strawberry Lake this summer, where his spirit will continue to be cherished amidst the beauty of nature.
