Thyrone Monaco

Thyrone Monaco, 85, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Thyrone Anne Foss was born May 27, 1923, in Hatton, North Dakota, daughter of Carl and Josephine (Skorpen) Foss. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethany Lutheran Church in Hatton. She graduated from Hatton High School in 1941.Thyrone worked at Farmers Mercantile Co and the telephone office in Hatton after high school. She married Al Mahus in 1944. Thyrone was married to Earl Monaco in June 1970. Thyrone was employed by Montana Job Service for 20 years. After retiring, she moved to Sun City, Arizona. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Sun City. She moved to Fargo in 1999, becoming a resident of Bethany Homes. In her life time, Thyrone was a very spirited woman, who loved good music and dancing. Thyrone is survived by her brother, Carell (Bonnie) Foss, Fargo, ND; 10 nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Dorothy Foss, Falcon Heights, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mardell Opitz; and brother, Lymon Foss. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethany Homes, Fargo.
