Thomas “Tom” Lloyd Schneider, 60, of Hatton, North Dakota, died Sunday, August 12, 2007, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. Thomas Lloyd Schneider was born May 5, 1947, to Phillip and Claudine Schneider. He was raised in Jamestown, North Dakota, and graduated from Jamestown High School. In 1969, Tom entered the USMC and served with the 28th Battalion. He served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He served two tours of duty in 1966 and 1967. Following an honorable discharge, Tom was united in marriage to Janice Marie Ringsrud on July 10, 1970. They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, for 34 years. They were blessed with two children, Ryan Thomas and Heidi Marie, now residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the years, Tom owned and operated T&J Construction. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and attending Kansas City Chief’s football games. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for always having a good joke and visiting with others. After an early retirement, Tom and wife, Jan, moved to Hatton, ND, where they have lived the past six years. Tom is survived by his wife, Jan; son, Ryan Thomas Schneider and future daughter-in-law, Laura Ann Bishop; his daughter, Heidi Marie (English) Schneider; son-in-law, Chris Bruce English; two granddaughters, Julianna Marie and Isabella Ryan; mother-in-law, Inga Ringsrud; brothers, Phil and Jim Schneider; sister, Suzanne Schneider; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Schneider; and nephew, Kurt Hirschkorn. Tom will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Semper Fi, always faithful.
