Suzanne Sarah Franks Olson (1945-2024) passed away in Fargo, ND, surrounded by loved ones in hospice care after a long, painful battle with cancer.
She grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and graduated from Mounds View High School in 1963. She earned her RN degree from the University of MN in 1971 and spent most of her career at Fairview Riverside in Minneapolis as a recovery room nurse. She loved being a nurse and made life-long friends during her time there.
One of her joys in life was music. She played piano, and her favorite artist was BB King. She saw him perform live twice, which was a thrill for her. She loved a good laugh, dancing, and being with friends.
Another of her joys was her family. She loved spending time with them and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her son, Bradley Richard Olson, his wife, Debra, and grandson, Liam. She also leaves behind extended family in California, including her sister, Patty Carden, and husband, Tom Wahweotten, and their children, Tahnee, Courtney, Nathan, Jessica, and Mark. She will also be missed by her many grandnieces, great-grand nieces, and a great-grand nephew.
A memorial service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 909 19th Ave N, Fargo, ND 58102, on February 10, 2024, at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Animal Shelter in Fargo. Suzanne was passionate about caring for animals and advocated for adoption and fostering.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elim Healthcare Facility in Fargo for their care and comfort during her short stay with them. We would also like to thank the staff at Red River Hospice for being so available to help her find some comfort in her last days with us.
