Stan was 94 Norwegian years young when he peacefully passed away December 29, 2017 at Elim Nursing Home in Fargo. He was proud to be of Norwegian heritage. You Betcha!
Stan was born in Napoleon, ND and grew up around Medina and then Leonard, ND. He attended school in Leonard. WWII Navy service was dutifully rendered in the South Pacific from 1943-1945. Stan spent many summers in Alaska working construction.
Stan’s bachelorhood came to an end when he fell in love and in 1972 married Ardes Tetzloff, a level-headed German. Under the tutelage of Ardes, he became a very good cook and host, serving many great meals for family and friends. Sadly, Stan was widowed in 2005.
Stan was preceded in death by Ardes; his parents, George and Martha (Germanson); sister, Laura; brothers, Gordon, Lloyd, Clifford and spouses; sisters-in-law and spouses, Lucy (Bill) Bachman, Ardeth (Frank) Jenson and Lorene Ott. He is survived by sister-in-law, Carma, wife of Lloyd; nephews, Wally (Diane) and their daughters, Julie (Chad Mauch) and Kathleen; Lyle (Sandra), their son Rick and daughters, Deana, Rachel, Heather (Gary Dewitt); Cliff Jr. and son Brad. He is survived by niece, Nancy Ott (Jim Pinckaers) and daughters, Johanna and Camille. He is also survived by his deceased niece Marilyn’s sons, Scott and Allen Johnson.
We will miss his sense of humor, his fabulous tomato garden and beet pickles.
