Early in the afternoon on Sunday, June 2, 2013, Shirley Stephenson, my mom, died. She went peacefully in the home she created for us; a home she loved.
Shirley Joyce Wilson was born in Fargo on January 28, 1936. She was married to my dad, Ron Stephenson on December 4, 1953. I don’t believe anyone could have better parents.
Shirley was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother. The last 2 months of her life she found joy in becoming a great-grandmother.
The last 3 decades, her joy was her grandchildren. Visits to Las Vegas, St. Cloud, and Wasilla, Alaska were some of the happiest times of her life. Her love of family was like the stars around us, immeasurable.
She is preceded in death by my dad, truly the love of her life, and her oldest grandchild, Danielle Halladay.
She is survived by brothers, Stan Wilson, and John Wilson. She is also survived by myself, Richard Stephenson; son, Daniel (Bernadette), St Cloud, MN; daughter, Laurie (Doug). She also leaves grandchildren: Elizabeth Carr (Richard), Douglas Scholberg (Theresa), Brandon Scholberg, Sabrina Stephenson, CeCe Stephenson, and Riggs Stephenson, and of course, her gorgeous great-granddaughter, Alyssa Scholberg.
We love you mom, and we all miss you deeply.
