Shirley Mae Schlenvogt

Shirley Mae Parkhouse was born on August 1, 1928 in Arthur, ND to James and Vida (Viestenz) Parkhouse. She graduated from high school in Jamestown, ND.

Shirley married Glenn Schlenvogt in Jamestown, ND on August 10, 1947. While he worked for Ottertail Power Company, they lived in Harvey, ND, Devils Lake, ND, Oakes, ND, and Fergus Falls, MN. They retired in 1988.

Shirley loved to travel. She enjoyed church fellowship at Oakes Presbyterian Church, watching movies, especially John Wayne, dancing, playing cards, bingo and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Shirley passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

She is survived by her children: Bill (Carol) Schlenvogt, Cloquet, MN; Dave (Rita) Schlenvogt, West Fargo, ND; Sharon (Eric) Enterline, Spokane, WA; Tom (Janice) Schlenvogt, Fargo, ND; and Bob (Sue) Schlenvogt, Jamestown, ND; eleven grandchildren; 13 great-grand children; brothers, Bruce (Judy) Parkhouse, and Gary Parkhouse, both of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Mary (Chick) Bovee, Minot, ND.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Mary; husband, Glenn; brothers, Vern, Jim and Donnie.
