Shirley Fritz

Shirley M. (Hornstein) Fritz, 82, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Shirley was born in Gary, SD, November 4, 1924, to Mr. and Mrs. George H. Hornstein. At a very early age, she moved to Lake Cochrane, SD, where her parents owned and operated a resort. She graduated from Gary High School in 1942. In June of 1942, she married Charles C. Fritz. They farmed near Gary until 1944. Charles’ career changes took them to Hetland, SD, Wichita, KS and, for many years, Watertown, SD. They relocated to Fargo, ND, in 1968. Shirley is preceded in death by husband, her parents, one brother and one granddaughter. She is survived by four daughters: Karolyn (Greg) Skoglund of Watertown, SD; Janith (Bill) Farnham of Pierre, SD; June (Ken) Pawluk and Kimberly (Ed) Van Hal, both of Fargo, ND. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 2 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Friday, January 19, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Prayer Service: Friday, January 19, 2007, at 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
