Shirley Bjugson

Shirley Bjugson, 75, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Shirley Joan Sande was born September 28, 1932, in Nelson County, North Dakota, on the family farm, daughter of Oscar and Hattie (Larson) Sande. She grew up on the farm and attended schools at McVille, North Dakota. Shirley married Halvor Bjugson June 18, 1949, in Moorhead, Minnesota. She was employed by Western Products for some years but the majority of her time was spent as a homemaker. She was a very supportive mother, not only to her sons and grandchildren, but to the organizations in which they were involved. Shirley was one of the founding members of the Fargo Raiders Hockey Association. She is survived by her sons, Mitch (Tammy) Bjugson, Peachtree City, GA; Dave and Ladd, both of Fargo, ND; a brother, DuWayne Sande, Fargo, ND; a sister, Dorothy Geiger, Cooperstown, ND; four grandchildren, Bethany Bjugson, Indian Harbor Beach, FL; Ben Bjugson, Peachtree City, GA; and Anja and Cole Bjugson, both of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Halvor; sister, Ethel; brother, Orville; and friends that called her Mom, Jim Paulson, Curt “Cleon” Thomton and Johnny Markey. Memorials are preferred to the Fargo Raiders Hockey Club – 821 17th Ave. N. – Fargo, ND 58102 Memorial Service: Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 2 PM, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo, ND.
