Sharon D. Simonson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on October 11th, 2022, at age 85 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born to Walter and Elizabeth Leroy in 1937 in Dunn County, ND. After graduating from Central high school, Sharon met her husband, Adrien Gerald Simonson, and started her dream of creating a large family. Together, they had 8 children: Cindy (Rich), Belinda (Brian), Michelle (Dave), Timothy, Mary (Troy), Barry (Ramona), Jeremy & Johnathan.
Sharon loved spending time with family and friends. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandmother. She had an amazing sweet tooth and loved sharing her treats with all the neighborhood kids. All the neighbor kids loved hanging at the Simonson's. There were always extras around to share in the Simonson fun. Along with raising a family Sharon also managed the concession stand for NDSU food service for over 20 years. The workers also became an extension of the family. She was an avid reader and an active member of her church. She loved the Lord and shared the love of Christ with family and friends. If she wasn't at church, work, or home, she was most likely at their cabin on Strawberry Lake enjoying family and nature.
Sharon is survived by her eight children; 68 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Trish Philon and Tami Anderson.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bette and Bev; brother-in-laws, Melvin and Mo; niece, Beth; nephews, Jason Kegel, Jim Philon, and Todd Philon; nephew-in-law, Paul Kegel; and great-great grandson, Jack.
The memorial service for Sharon will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Northview Church in Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
