The memorial service for Sharon L. McLean of Fargo, ND will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at 2pm at Hope Lutheran Church in South Fargo with Pastor Charles Olmstead officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.
Sharon L. McLean, daughter of Les and Hazel (Rekken) Madson was born in Fargo on Feb. 17, 1950. She graduated from Fargo North High School in 1968. She started working with Northwestern Bell in 1968 and retired with over 30 years of service in 2001.
Sharon and Mark McLean met in 1982 and were married on Feb. 2, 1985, in Fargo, ND. Sharon and Mark enjoyed time living between Fargo and Big Floyd Lake, MN as well as time down in Mesa, AZ. Sharon loved spending time on the lakes (Rose and Big Floyd) with family and friends. She was always the first one to say, “Let’s go on the pontoon!” and some of her favorite music was from the Beatles.
Sharon passed away on the 4th day of August, 2016 at home in Fargo. Her life’s journey was ended by lung cancer. She was 66 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Mark: her two children, Lisa (Rob) Lee, Oakdale, MN and Kevin McLean, Detroit Lakes, MN; her three grandchildren, Lukas and Beka Lee and Carter McLean; one sister Jan (Bill) Warner, Prior Lake, MN; and one brother, Larry (Laurel) Madson, Fargo, ND; and nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at the Roger Marris Cancer Center who cared for Sharon, the friends at Prairie View Estates, and all her family and friends and a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Donations will be used for a memorial bench in her honor and given to Hope Lutheran Church. Sharon has now begun her eternity in heaven with her Savior, Jesus.
