Ruth Opland, 94, of Fargo, ND, formerly Redfield, SD, died January 20, 2016 at Villa Maria, Fargo.
Ruth Elizabeth Graman was born August 7, 1921 to Jacob and Mary (Blattenbauer) Graman in Yankton, SD. She attended school in Yankton, and graduated from Yankton High School. She married Stephen Opland in 1941 in Buffalo, NY. They made their home in Redfield, SD, where she worked as a legal secretary. He died in 1990 and she later moved to Fargo.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Mark Dorsey, Sabin, MN; Dianna (Stan) Baumann, Moorhead, MN; Stephen (Michelle) Dorsey, Sabin, MN; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marcia Dorsey; one brother and seven sisters.
Private services will be held in South Dakota.
