Ruth Heglie

Ruth B. Heglie died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Villa Maria Nursing Home at the age of 97. She was born at Wild Rice, ND, June 11, 1911, to Albert I. and Mathilde (Trehus) Anderson. She attended Stanley School. Ruth married Arthur E. Heglie June 7, 1936, at the Lower Wild Rice and Red River Lutheran Church near Wild Rice/Hickson, ND. They lived in Hickson where she was a member of the Hickson Lutheran Church and was a charter member of the Pleasant Homemaker’s Club. In 1957, they moved to Fargo. They enjoyed many years on Pelican Lake, MN, before Arthur died in 1980. In 1999, Ruth moved to Riverview Place and was at Villa Maria from November 2008 until the time of her death. Ruth is survived by two daughters, VonDel Anderson, Fargo, ND; Brenda (Trevor) Green, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; daughter-in-law, Margaret Heglie, Chatham, NJ; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Ralph Anderson in 2005; son, Roger in 2007; her sisters, Benora, Alice Reuteler; and brothers, Melvin, Arthur, Bennie, Thomas, Edwin and Grant Anderson. Funeral Service: Friday, January 23, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. at Riverview Place Chapel, Fargo, ND. Burial: South Pleasant Cemetery, Christine, ND.
