Ruth was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 18, 1947 to Ethel Ruth (Battles) and Arthur Leonard Danielson. She spent much of her adolescence in Warroad, MN. In 1973 she moved to Fargo, where she lived until her passing on March 11, 2013.
Ruth had a kind heart and dedicated her life to caring for those around her. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two children. Never missing a baseball game or ballet recital, she was a quintessential “supermom.” Her children’s accomplishments stand as a testament to her unfailing love and support.
She was a gardener and animal lover. She loved literature, beautiful sunsets, and colorful flowers. She was a longtime supporter of Minnesota Public Radio and listened faithfully to Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion every Saturday night. Ruth was an active and beloved member of the Fargo-Moorhead Unitarian Universalist Church.
Ruth held a Masters in Social Work from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and dedicated her professional energy to helping individuals with disabilities at Community Living Services, where she was employed as a case manager for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved rescue pups Chewie and Buffy. Ruth is survived by her daughter Marivel, son Miguel, and her feisty tuxedo kitty, Princess. Ruth will be loved and remembered always.
Join us for a memorial service to be held at 1pm on Saturday March 16, 2013 at the Fargo Moorhead Unitarian Universalist Church at 121 S. 9th St. in Fargo.
