C. Russell J. Ruppert

C. Russell J. Ruppert was born September 19, 1922 in Portal, ND to Rose and John Ruppert. After completing college he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Okinawa Signal Corp.

Russ married the love of his life, Marian at the Old North Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 11, 1944. They moved to Grafton and in 1952 had their son, Merle. The family then moved to Fargo, ND in 1954.

Russ worked for NW Bell until he retired in 1983. Russ and Marian spent their retirement years traveling and spending winter months in Mesa, AZ. He was a lifetime member of Plymouth Congregational Church.

Russ passed on May 2, 2013 at his home at Edgewood Vista in Fargo.

He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, his love for his family and his kindness.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marian; son, Merle (Mary) Ruppert; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother.
