Rudolph Theodore Lalonde

December 24, 1947 — January 17, 2025

Rudolph Theodore Lalonde was born in Winnipeg, Canada on December 24, 1947. Formerly of Prosper, ND, Rudy (also known as Ted) was adopted by Jean and Joseph Lalonde and went to live with them the day he was born. Rudy was very thankful for the home he was raised in. The family moved to Fargo in the summer of 1957. They later moved to Moorhead, MN where Rudy graduated from Moorhead High School in 1967. He continued his education at Moorhead Technical College. As a child Rudy stripped furniture at his parent's upholstery shop in Fargo, ND. He learned the trade from his father and they continued working together until his dad's retirement. Rudy took over the business as a very successful upholsterer.

Rudy enjoyed Nascar racing and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. He was devastated when Dale was killed while racing. Rudy enjoyed bowling, starting in 1979, until his illness ended his bowling career last year. He was also a biker for a time, buying his first Harley in 1976.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Joseph Lalonde. He is survived by his love of 53 years, Mary Vilhauer of Fargo, ND; his brother, Jack and sister, Linda both from Canada; his nieces and nephews; along with all of Mary's family and his beloved cat, Trouble.

Rudy (Ted) will be dearly missed as he was loved.
