Roxann (Kane) Williams, 73, passed away at her home in Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Roxann was born on April 6, 1944 in Kalamazoo, MI, daughter of Willard & Margaret Kane. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, and attended Western Michigan University for a short time as an English major. In her younger years she spent many weekends traveling with her parents and siblings to Northern Michigan on camping trips, and eventually to trips to the cabin on Lake Louise.
Roxann married Richard Williams August 14, 1973, and relocated from Kalamazoo to Eaton Rapids, Michigan. She not only raised children in Eaton Rapids, but also tended to animals which included two horses. Following a move to the Detroit area, she relocated from Michigan in 1984 with her husband and children to Fargo, ND. She was a devoted mother to 6 children, staying home to raise her children until they were in school. Following the graduation of her youngest child, Roxann went back into the work force eventually accepting a position at North Dakota State University (NDSU). She retired from NDSU where she was proud to be the Assistant to the Dean of the College of Business Administration.
In recent years she enjoyed being Grandma/Great-Grandma to her 18 grandchildren. Roxann’s favorite activites included time spent being creative, making memories with her children and grand-children, getting together with her Sip-and-Stich girls, traveling, and spending time at Rose Lake. It was traveling with her husband she most looked forward to in her retirement.
Roxann is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rick; her children, Kim (Kevin) Burns and Mike (Paula) Williams both of suburban Detroit, MI, Jason (Kelly) Docsa, Kalamazoo, MI, Aaron (Amy) Docsa, McKinney, TX, Becky (Nick) Dorsher, Fargo, ND, Rick Jr. (Bethany), Moorhead, MN; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Greg Kane, Kalamazoo, MI, sister, Holly (Cal) Moore, Estes Park, CO.
The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Elim Care Center for the kind and thoughtful care they provided to our entire family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to Elim Care Center.
