Roxane Myhra, 68, passed away on February 11, 2025 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND with family by her side. Roxane Marie Olson was born on April 26, 1956 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA to parents Harley and Lois (Hulst) Olson.
Roxane spent her early years on Minnesota's Iron Range before moving to Roseau, MN at the age of eight. She graduated from Roseau High School in 1974, where she excelled at track and basketball and held a record for most points in a game for many years. She was also a cheerleader for boys' basketball.
After graduating from college in Crookston, MN, Roxane returned to Roseau and worked as a medical secretary at the hospital for a number of years. In 1977, Roxane married Rick Vatnsdal in Roseau, MN, where they built their home and welcomed two children, Jeremy (1979) and Sara (1982). Over the next few years, they led a happy and busy life and were active members of First Baptist Church, where Roxane was a Sunday school teacher. In 1986, Rick was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died later that same year. Roxane was a source of loving support throughout his journey.
Roxane later met Rick Myhra and the two were married and moved to Moorhead, MN in 1990. The next years were dedicated to family, where her children were always a primary focus. Roxane was supportive of her children in everything they did, spending countless hours driving them to practices and never missing a game or recital. She passed down her love of sports and was their #1 fan. There was always a home-cooked meal on the table, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, arms ready to hug and a never-ending supply of "I love yous". Roxane also loved being a grandma and was so proud of her grandchildren.
Roxane was a warm, kind and compassionate person who could make friends with anyone. She had a bubbly personality, loved to laugh and enjoyed a good practical joke. Roxane was a strong, resilient person who dealt with many losses and faced multiple health issues throughout her life. Rick and Roxane were inseparable through 35 years of marriage where he faithfully supported her and stood by her side through the ups and downs. They recently moved to a one level condo in Dilworth, MN when her health worsened and mobility became limited.
