Ronald Lee Sturlaugson, 68, Fargo, formerly of Langdon, died Monday February 5th, 2007 in the loving care of his wife, Marjorie and their family. He was born September 19th, 1938 to Sig and Doreen (Beaudrie) Sturlaugson in Langdon, ND. He graduated from Langdon High School in 1956. After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 where he was stationed in Germany. He returned home and on January 18th, 1959, married Marjorie Joan Howatt and began working in the family business. Sig, Richard (brother) and Ron formed a service station partnership in 1961. In 1975, he took sole ownership of the service station, until his retirement in 1989. He was also involved in an owner partnership with the Langdon Ready Mix during the 70’s and 80’s. He was an active member of Langdon Fire Department for 25 years, a past president of the Langdon Curling Club, a member of the Langdon Eagles and the West Fargo VFW. The KEM Shriners Club, the Lebanon Lodge 34, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Royal Order of Jestures were a large part of his and Mom’s life. The shrine brought a lifetime of friendships, brotherhood and keepsake memories to their daily lives. His summers were all about traveling in his motor home and fishing. Lake of the Woods was his favorite hot spot. He exemplified great patience as he quietly removed many tangled fishing lines from his boat motor. Cleanliness is next to Godliness… especially when it came to his vehicles. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Joan (Howatt) Sturlaugson, Fargo, brother, Richard (Beverly) Sturlaugson, Detroit Lakes, MN, sons Doug (Val), Bismarck, Jason (Sherri) , Fargo, Matthew (Mandii), Fargo, daughters Jane (John) Thompson, Park River, Linda (Keith) Albrecht, Langdon, Misty (Matt) Grant, Indianapolis, IN, and 18(soon to be 19) grandchildren he adored.
