Ronald Ross Heisler, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 30th, 2022, in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ron was born July 23rd, 1956, to Maury and Pat (Morrow) Heisler in Devils Lake, ND. He graduated from Devils Lake High School, class of 1976.

Ron was united in marriage to Karla (Ness) on December 5th, 1980; they had 2 children: Levi (Randi), their three sons Macen, Aspen, Max, and Mataya, and her son Braeden. Ron worked at Pepsi for 40 + years, working in delivery, sales, and management. He was the recipient of many awards and boasted no accidents his entire career. Ron was a member of KEM Shriners-Lake Region Flag Corp and Hope Lutheran Church.

Ron, also known as “Moon” to many, had many athletic abilities, which included high school football (wearing #32) and hockey (wearing #9). A hockey highlight that Ron would recall is when he (Devils Lake Satans) played against Grafton Spoilers in a ND State Championship game that went into 5 overtimes. He enjoyed water skiing, was a member of the Aquanauts Ski Team from Devils Lake, and his most recent feat was barefooting at age 60. He was also an avid snow skier and enjoyed going to MT. The time and memories spent hunting throughout his life would be a highlight he truly enjoyed, and he was known as the “Surgeon” when field-dressing a deer. His interest in carpentry was sparked while in high school and was something he carried throughout his lifetime - remodeling many homes and completing many projects.

Ron was a loyal and caring husband and father. He worked hard and provided as a father does, and his fortitude was his willingness to offer his time and talents to family and friends. His grandsons were his pride and joy. Ron and Karla created a life they cherished together, and the loss will forever be a piece missing in our lives.

Ron is survived by his wife Karla, son Levi (Randi), daughter Mataya and grandsons Macen, Braeden, Aspen, and Max. Ron’s siblings: Pam (Doug) Heisler, Timothy (Myrna) Heisler, Marcy (Pat) Volk. Father-in-law Robert Ness, sisters-in-law Kristi Ness, Kim (Dan) Solberg, brothers-in-law Keith (Joan) Ness and Kent (Hayley) Ness, and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, parents Maury and Pat Heisler, his sister, Sonie, and mother-in-law Bernice Ness.

A sincere thank you to the Fargo Fire Department, Sanford Paramedics, and Sanford Medical Center Emergency Room Doctors and Staff for the care you provided.
