Roger Beeber Quast

Roger Beeber Quast, age 91, of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Sanford in Fargo.

Roger was born in Berlin, ND, on December 31, 1927 to Julius Curt J Quast and Alice Marie Quast. He grew up in Grand Rapids, ND and was in active army service from 1950 to 1952. Roger completed his educational program at Molar Barber College, Fargo, ND in 1953. He owned and operated Northport Barber Service for 45 years, retiring in 1987. He married Ruth Roscoe on December 26, 1951 in Dickey, ND and they made their home in Fargo, ND.

Roger was a member of Barbers of Fargo-Moorhead and North Dakota Barber Association and was on the North Dakota Barber Board of Examiners. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Affairs, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #153, Fargo Jaycees, Edgewood Lions Club, and Northport Shopping Center Association. He was active in Boy Scouts of America and Faith United Methodist Church. Roger enjoyed woodworking, family time at the lake, golfing and spending winters in Arizona.

Roger is survived by his wife and 3 children: Wanda (Craig) Opland, Pelican Rapids, MN, Mike (Jane) Quast, Hawley, MN, Brenda Mehus, Fargo, ND; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Burial will be at a later date, Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
