Robert John Wicker

Robert “Rob” Wicker, 66, of Fargo (and formerly of Cavalier, ND) died on Friday, December 20.

Robert John Wicker was born May 12, 1947, and at 9 months of age was adopted by Lee and Wally Wicker in Pearl Lake, MN. He graduated from St. Boniface High School in 1965, and received a BS in Education from Mayville State University in 1973. Rob and his wife Kathy Wicker (Gense) were married in 1974, residing in Cavalier until 3 months ago, having moved to Fargo in retirement. Rob was a teacher and coach for 30 years, teaching in Cavalier, ND from 1974-2003, always passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students and student athletes.
Rob and Kathy treasured opportunities to travel, to enjoy a variety of sporting events, and most importantly, spending time with their children and family (Mike, Stacy, and Tony) and grandchildren (Lauren and Katelyn).

Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Wicker, having been married for nearly 40 years. He also is survived by his two children, son, Mike (Dena Buckley) Wicker, Glendale, AZ; daughter, Stacy (Tony) Peterson, Moorhead, MN; granddaughters, Lauren and Katelyn Peterson; twin brother, Rick, Litchfield, MN; sister, Wanda Wicker, St. Cloud, MN; and nephew, Shannon, Grand Lake, MN.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Moorhead, MN.
