Robert John “Beth” Waind, 81, Fargo, ND, died at home surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, July 14, 2007. Robert was born August 11, 1925, to Mark and Dora (Butterwick) Waind at Milton, ND. He grew up and graduated from high school there in 1943 where he excelled at basketball. Robert and Geneva Rasmusson were united in marriage on July 24, 1949 at Osnabrock, ND. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 1953. He worked at Red Dot Snacks. He owned and operated Bob’s Candy Co. He later worked as a salesman for Frito-Lay Snack Foods for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Robert is survived by his wife, Geneva Waind of Fargo; one son, Paul (Marsha) Waind, Grand Forks, ND; two daughters, Pauline (Craig) McMillan, Layton, UT; and Patricia (Richard) Hoganson, Moorhead, MN; one brother, Warren (Millie) Waind, Langdon, ND; one sister, Jean Thomson, Colorado Springs, CO, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William, Allen, and Gerald Waind, and one sister, Marjorie Hawkins. Funeral: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, Fargo. Visitation: Tuesday, July 17, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
