Robert Pearson

Robert G. Pearson age 87 of Fargo, ND passed away December 30, 2011. Robert was born March 5, 1924 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis to Gustaf A. and Amanda P. (Nelson) Pearson. He grew up and attended schools in Minneapolis graduating from Roosevelt High School in January 1942. He entered the US Army in October 1942 and served in the European Theater from May 1943 through October 1945. He started working for the telephone company in November 1945. He retired from U. S. West Telephone Company in February 1986. He was married on November 13, 1955 to Della Marie (Anderson) at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes, ND. He is survived by his wife, son Don (Sherry Wagner) Pearson; daughter Mary Jane (Mark) Cooper, two grandsons Ross and Brady Pearson and one granddaughter Kjersti Cooper. A sister-in-law and two nieces also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ellsworth. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 002. He did volunteer work for the FM Emergency Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Churches United for the Homeless and Boy Scout Troop 214. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Elim Lutheran Church the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Funeral: Monday, January 2, 2012, 11:00 AM at Elim Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, January 1, 2012 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 5:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
