Robert Matthew Otterson

Robert Otterson, age 86, a resident of Villa Maria of Fargo, ND died on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Robert Matthew Otterson was born April 17, 1931 in Minot, ND, the son of Leonard and Anna Berniece (Kelley) Otterson. He attended grade school in Minot, ND, moved to Fargo in 1943 and graduated from Fargo Central High in 1949.

On June 6, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Lou Clemens and they had six children. Bob married Luella May Schmidt in 1976.

Bob worked for Meyers Taube Company and Bristol Distributing Company in Fargo and Minot. He also worked for Team Electronics Company of Minot. Bob transferred to Great Falls, Montana in 1980.

Bob had one sister, Vera (Warren) Heaton and one brother, Leonard Otterson Junior. He was unmarried at the time of his death.

Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, wood working, painting, working with his hands, and reading novels about the history of the West. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Clubs in Fargo, Minot and Great Falls.

Bob is survived by four of his children:Sheryl (Greg) Wilson, Michael Otterson, Deborah (Robin) Cree and Todd Otterson; one brother, Leonard Otterson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; son, Scott Otterson; daughter, Monica Otterson; sister, Vera Heaton and two “special uncles”, Buster and Tiny Kelley.
