Roald A. Gisvold, 61, of Fargo, ND, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND, after a long fight with Parkinson’s disease. Roald was born July 26, 1947, in Mankato, Minnesota, to James and Evelyn Gisvold. He graduated from Central High in Fargo, North Dakota. Later in his life, he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Giz loved his family, tinkering with old classic cars, watching the Twins, playing softball, games of cribbage and especially, fishing with his family. He was the owner of the Dutch Maid Ice Cream Parlor, which he operated for many years. Giz married Diane Holden June 30, 1979, and is survived by her and their two children, Jenna and Derek; his sisters, Carol Rogne and Marilyn Ryberg. Memorial Service: Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at 11:00 AM, at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
