Rick Allen Schick was born February 12, 1957 in Fargo, ND to Ervin and Bernice (Mueller) Schick. He grew up in the Golden Ridge Neighborhood and attended area schools. Rick began working for Mid-America Steel in July of 1975 and retired from there in 2016. He was a proud member of the Boilermakers Union (International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, AFL-CIO CLC Lodge #000647), serving as Union Steward for many years.
Rick married Charlotte “Char” Fabre on 5/26/1995 in Fargo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, astronomy and was a self-proclaimed “jack of all trades-master of none”; a true renaissance man and a true family man. He loved his family and grandchildren.
Rick died at his home under Hospice care on July 19, 2018. He was 61.
Rick is survived by his wife, Char; children, Nichole Schick, Fargo, Lindsay Schick, West Fargo, Dusty Christensen, Calloway, MN, Genia Paige Wilson, Minneapolis, MN, Adam Schick, West Fargo and Max Schick, West Fargo; grandchildren, Jordan, Alexus, Cameron, Caiden, Samantha, Danica, Paige, Justin Jr.; brothers, Ronald (Lorraine) Schick, Moorhead, and Bruce (Jean) Schick, Fargo and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy (Robert) Brudevold and Roxanne Baumgardner.
