Richard Ward

Dick Ward, 75, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo. Richard Leroy Ward was born to Alvin and Florence (Erickson) Ward in 1935 in Oak Park, IL. He was raised and went to school in Berwyn, IL. He received degrees from Colorado State University, Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, and North Dakota State University. Dick served in the US Army 23rd Infantry Division for two years. Dick married Linda J. Campanella in 1966 in Illinois. He taught biology in Mehlville, MO and at Fargo North High School. Twice, he was president of the Cass County Area Retired Teachers Association. He retired from teaching in 1994. Dick is survived by his wife, Linda; brother, Charles Ward, Port Lavack, TX; niece; nephew; grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Emergency Food Pantry, Salvation Army, or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral Service: 2:00PM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Faith United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: 5-7PM, Monday, August 30, 2010 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery – North, Fargo, ND.
