Richard D. Wagner Sr. passed away Tuesday, December 8, at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo, ND. Richard was born March 21, 1932 at Baker, MN to Raymond (Buzz) and Hazel (Curly) Wagner. Richard was raised on the farm and attended country school Dist. #119. He graduated from Dilworth High School and attended NDSU for one semester. Richard married Dixie Hommie in 1953 and they had one son Richard (Rick) Wagner Jr.
After serving in the US Army, he farmed with his father for several years. He then moved to Fargo and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Border States Electric, and had a window cleaning business. He spent the last 14 years working for Dakota Boys nā Girls Ranch on South 32nd Ave.
He married Harriet Haug in 1974. They lived in Moorhead, MN, Glyndon, MN, and finally made their home in Fargo, ND. Richard and Harriet loved studying scripture and believed in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Richard is survived by his son, Rick (Cindy) Wagner, Fargo; grandsons, Nick Wagner, Oregon, Nathan (Katie) Wagner, Hitterdal; great-grandson, Ellis Wagner; stepchildren, Debra Meyer, Fargo, Robert Fredrickson, Missouri, Dean Fredrickson, Colorado, Kevin and Dustin Fredrickson, Fargo; brother, Roger (Eleanor) Wagner, Barnesville; sisters: Joanne Reitan, Moorhead, Donna Mae Sire, Hastings, MN along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wives, and stepdaughter, Rebecca Osborne.
