Roy Eugene (Gene) Struble, 89, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Country Manor in Sartell, MN. Gene was born October 23, 1918, in Charles City, Iowa, to John and Edna Struble. He graduated from Fargo Central High School. He graduated from MSUM, Moorhead, and went on to earn his Master’s degree from NDSU, Fargo. Gene married Maxine Wichmann on August 16, 1940. During their marriage, they lived in Fertile, Thief River Falls, Shakopee, St. Paul, on Middle Cormorant Lake and Fargo. Gene’s career started in education as a teacher and administrator. He worked in Chamber of Commerce related areas for several years. Throughout his life, he worked both professionally and for the pleasure of others in vocal and instrumental music. He was a pipe organist at the Fargo Theatre for 16 years. He is survived by his children, Russell (Susan), Northport, FL; Barbara (Keith) Robberstad, Blaine, MN; Susan (Terryl) Schermer, Annandale, MN; and Kent (Cherri), Woodbury, MN; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Gerald) Feese, Kearney, NB; sister-in-law Ruth, Boca Raton, FL; two brothers-in-law, Wendell (Eunice) Wichmann, Cockeysville, MD; Glen Benson, Fargo, ND; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; and his brother, Raymond. Memorials are preferred to be given to the Fargo Theatre or Plymouth Congregational Church. Funeral: Tuesday April 24 at 11:00AM at Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo Visitation: Monday, April 23 from 5 – 7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Monday at 7 PM in the funeral home. Burial: Wednesday at 11:30 AM in Sunset Memorial Park, St. Anthony Park, MN.
