Raymond “Ray” L. Miller, 82, of Fargo, North Dakota passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 with his wife by his side.
Ray was born on January 22, 1933 in Aneta, North Dakota where he grew up and then graduated from high school. He attended NDSU and obtained his Bachelors degree in Agricultural Education in 1960 and then his Masters in Agricultural Economics in 1962.
On March 14, 1956 he was married to Janet Deal in Valparaiso, Indiana. They lived in Valley City for 13 years where he was Cub Scout Master for 5 years, a member of Sons of Norway, Eagles, American Legion, Knights of Pythias and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, that took him to Soviet Georgia for 2 months before moving to Fargo in 1974 where they have remained.
Ray served in the United States Army. He worked as a Broker/Appraiser for Farm Credit for 37 years before retiring in 1999. After retiring, Ray and Jan were able to enjoy traveling, some of it with their grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Janet “Jan” (Deal) Miller; sons, Raymond (Stacey) Miller and Rory Miller; sisters, Marilyn Nerdahl, and Jean Wixo; brothers, Michael (Jan) Miller and John (Pam) Miller; granddaughters, Tonya (Aaron) Grimm, Chelsey (Scott) Perhus, Corissa (Colter) Frederick, Brandy (Chad) Honea and Jana Miller. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond N. Miller and Mabel A. Carlson, and both his daughters, Colleen Nygaard and Casandra “Casey” Perhus.
