Raymond Arthur Haaland, 78, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Raymond Arthur Haaland was born September 12, 1941 to Alf and Bernice (Johnson) Haaland in Cooperstown, ND. Raymond and Eloise (Torgerson) were married October 15, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, North Dakota, while living in Aneta, North Dakota.
In 1962, they left Aneta for the Los Angeles area, where Ray worked for Knudson Dairy as a route salesman while attending night classes at LaPuente High School for two years, earning his high school diploma.
Ray and Eloise moved back to Fargo in 1967, where Ray worked as a route salesman for North Star Dairy. Ray was eventually promoted to regional sales manager. After retiring, Ray and Eloise purchased rental properties, and he also worked part time at the golf course. Ray and Eloise spent their winters in Mesquite, Nevada.
Raymond's interests included bowling, golf, horse racing and Minnesota Gopher basketball.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Eloise; daughter, Angela (Merle) McConnell; son, Timothy Haaland; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Dorsett, April McConnell, Ben McConnell, Brittany (Rob Huber) Haaland, Lucas (Caitlin) McConnell, Dustin (Rachel) Haaland, Randi Jo Haaland, Jesse (Kaeli) McConnell, and Cole McConnell; as well as six great-grandchildren, Richard, Kaylee and Waylon McConnell, Parker, Tucker and Rikki (Huber). Raymond so enjoyed and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Haaland; and his half-sister, Marlene Fjield.
Memorials are preferred to the Silent Hill Cemetery Association in Aneta, ND or First Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.
Funeral Service: 11am, Monday, September 23, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND
Visitation: 4-6pm, Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
Prayer Service: 6pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial: Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
