Rachel King

Rachel King, 96, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Villa Maria, Fargo. Rachel Field was born in Osakis, Minnesota, January 29, 1912, to Allen and Carrie (Hanson) Field. Rachel, her mother and sister, Lucille, moved to Fargo, North Dakota, as a child when her father died of pneumonia. She was married in Fargo to Howard King in 1933, and later moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. They moved to Enderlin, North Dakota, in 1941, and lived there during the school years of their two children. Howard worked as a railway mail clerk. They returned to Fargo in 1964. Rachel was active in life until this year. She was proud of her Danish heritage and a wonderful mother. Rachel is survived by her son, Dennis King, Akron, OH; daughter, Barbara Walker, Alexandria, VA; brother, John Roberg, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Reid Walker; Karen King Marcq; Kevin King; great-grandchildren, Maureen Renel, Emma-Lou Marcq, Ben King, Ella King, Taylor and Lindsay Walker. Rachel will be sadly missed by John Roberg’s children, Mara, Brad, Greg, Corey, Steven and Annette and their families. Memorial Service: Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 5:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
