Phyllis Helen Sunderland

Phyllis Sunderland, 74, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo.

Phyllis H. Sanders was born April 9, 1942 in Langdon, ND to Ralph and Margie (Phelps) Sanders. She grew up on the farm between Osnabrock and Milton, ND. After graduation from Osnabrock, she received her teaching degree from Mayville State College.

On December 28, 1963, Phyllis married the love of her life, Don Sunderland, at the Presbyterian Church in Langdon, ND. Phyllis taught in Walhalla and Gilby, after which she received her Masters Degree in Library Science. She worked as Librarian and Media Specialist at Longfellow Elementary School in Fargo until her retirement. The greatest part of her career was helping students and staff at Longfellow for the many years she was there. She will be deeply missed.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Don; sisters, Virginia (Wayne) French and Lois Barnes; brother, Earl (Sheila) Sanders; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Terry Sanders.
