Philip G. Mac Millan, 90, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Philip G. Mac Millan was born to Catherine (Stuart) and Archie Mac Millan on October 4, 1918, at McVille, North Dakota. He attended grade school in Grand Forks and McVille. He graduated from McVille High School and attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He was involved in the family farm at McVille. In 1947, with N. M. Haugen as a partner, he purchased the Motor Inn Chevrolet Co. in McVille. In 1957, he sold his interest in the automobile business and purchased the McVille State Bank which he continued to own and operate until he retired in 1966. In 1942, he married Adelaide Brakke, of McVille, ND, at Rolla, MO. In 1973, they moved to Fargo, ND, and have continued to live there with a winter time residence in Sun City West, AZ. Philip is survived by his wife, Adelaide of 66 ½ years and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and four brothers; Marion (Frank) LaMetre, Dorothy (Marshall) Fitzgerald, Catherine (Charles) Ackerman, Evelyn (William) Mjogdalen, Stuart (Rose), Archie (Jean), Lincoln (Alice), Ronald (Neva). Memorial Service: Monday, December 29, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Gathering of friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment: McVille Cemetery, McVille, North Dakota at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Nelson County Health System Foundation or First Lutheran Church.
