Perry Hardel, 57, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, after a brief yet courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Perry Lee Hardel was born August 17, 1956 to Harold and Orma (Willmsen) Hardel in St. Peter, MN. The family moved several times before settling in Cokato, MN, where Perry graduated from high school in 1974. After high school, Perry began his career in building services and construction with his father’s construction company. In the early 1980’s he moved to the Twin Cities and continued his construction career, mainly working on his own as a general contractor or project superintendent. He was extremely gifted at thinking outside the box and coming up with creative ideas for building and construction projects.
Perry met his best friend, Cindy Siebels in 1997. They loved to travel together, visiting numerous places throughout the US. Perry moved to Moorhead, MN in 2007. His work during this time took him all over the country and Cindy was fortunate enough to have been able to go with him on many occasions.
Perry enjoyed sports, fishing, horse races, playing cards, softball, and was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. He loved staying busy and was always working on some small project around the house.
Perry is survived by his forever fiancé, Cindy, Moorhead, MN; children, Jay (Lauren) Siebels and Ann Siebels, both of Moorhead, MN; Burt (Jan) Hardel, Lakeville, MN; Hal (Kyle) Hardel, Andover, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Hardel.
There will be a Reception following the service at the Moorhead American Legion, 303 30th St. N., Moorhead, MN.
